CHARACTERIZATION AND IDENTIFICATION SERVICE

The Ornamental Section has a public service of Camellia japonica cultivar and hybrid characterization and identification through the application of morphobotanic descriptors and molecular markers (SSR).

Sample submission:

Samples will consist on 10 well-developed flowers and 10 adult healthy leaves and flower buds. It is advised to send photographs of the flowers, plant, fruit and seeds (in case they from fruit), as well as other relevant data, such as the flowering season and data on the environmental and culture conditions in which the plant grows. Sample reception timetable will be from 8:00 to 12:00 hours, from Monday to Friday on working days.
