INFORMATION ON THE
VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL OF ENAC ACCREDITATION

We inform you that from June 1st 2007, the ENAC logo will not appear on the reports of our Armillariaassays.

The decision of this voluntary withdrawal, is mainly due to the efforts devoted to the maintenance of these two quality systems with both human and economic resources:

» A quality system according to the standard UNE- EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2005, accredited by ENAC, for the identification of Armillaria following the method PCR-RFLP (from July 2003)

» A quality system according to the standard UNE- EN ISO 9001:2000, certified by AENOR, for the detection and identification of plant pathogenic fungi using molecular techniques: PCR, PCR-RFLP and Nested-PCR (from September 2005).

We have taken the decision to focus our work on the maintenance of a single system, and after pondering the advantages and disadvantages of both, the system we will keep and maintain as a basis of our continuous improvement, is the certification UNE-EN ISO 9001: 2000, being aware that the commitment with the quality of the services rendered will not be affected.

If you desire more information on this aspect, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Pontevedra, 29 May 2007
The Laboratory Manager
J. Pedro Mansilla
