THE ESTACIÓN FITOPATOLÓXICA DO AREEIRO WILL HELP TO CONTROL THE PATHOGENS AFFECTING GRAPEVINES OF THE DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN RIAS BAIXAS

The Estación Fitopatolóxica do Areeiro held a meeting at the Parador de Cambados last Tuesday 21st July with technicians belonging to the main wineries of the Designation of Origin Rías Baixas to study the main ways of dissemination of information to the growers of the diagnosis and pests and diseases affecting grapevine, with the aim of increasing the production and the quality of our wines. The event was presented by Rafael Louzán, President of the Provincial Government and the Major of Cambados, Luis Aragunde and had the participation of the President of the Regulatory Board, Jose Ramón Meiriño and the EFA Director, Pedro Mansilla.

At present, the web site of the Estación Fitopatolóxica do Areeiro has a service of plant sanitary warnings that includes a special grapevine section with information of the main pathogens and pests detected in the crop and the control measures that could be carried out in each case, as well as the evolution of the pathogen, on the basis of the development stage of the crop and the environmental conditions of the area.
